Education Corner - 2023 Fall Edition

Did You Miss the NICE Compliance Reporting Deadline?

If you hold an AIE®, CIE®, or CICSR® designation and you missed the October 1st reporting deadline of continuing education (CE) credits for the 2022-2023 compliance period, the registration of your designation will have been made inactive. Without an active registration of your designation, IRES will not recognize your professional designation nor endorse it to others, including, but not limited to your employer, the NAIC, organizations, associations or other individuals. Notification of designation suspension will be sent to the email address on file with IRES.

Complete NICE program details and reporting deadlines are contained in the NICE Program Manual. If you have questions or for information on how to reactive your designation, please contact the IRES office.

New Compliance Period

It is never too early to start earning credits towards the new National IRES Continuing Education (NICE) compliance year.

Deadlines for the new compliance period:

  • Complete your continuing education by August 31, 2024

  • Submit your continuing education credits is September 30, 2024

The NICE Program requires 15 hours of qualifying continuing education (CE) credit be earned and reported each year.

Remember, you do not have to wait until the end of the compliance period to submit your credits; you can enter them as you earn them. The NICE Submission Form is always open and available online for you to report your credits.

To report your credits, go to the IRES website and log-in to your account. Once logged in:

1. Click on the Professional Development tab on the navigation rail on the left. If you do not automatically land on the page that allows you to see your Profile, click on your name in the upper right corner. Then click Account + Settings.

2. While on the Journal Entries tab, click on the +Add Entry button.

3. Complete the CE Submission form. (Remember, the expiration date credits for the current reporting period should be 08/31/2024)

4. Attach a PDF of your certificate of attendance (or other proof of completion)

5. Click Submit.

For more information on the NICE program, see the NICE Program Manual available online at www.go-ires.org.
