​​CALL FOR SPEAKERS
The IRES Career Development Seminar (CDS) planning committee is requesting speaker proposals for the 2025 Career Development Seminar and Regulatory Skills Workshop, July 27-29, 2025, in Houston, Texas.
​
Each year IRES organizes the CDS to offer breakout sessions tailored for individuals working in various areas of insurance regulation, such as consumer services, financial solvency, market regulation, producer licensing, enforcement, and compliance. Additionally, the CDS hosts general sessions addressing current hot topics and issues in life, annuity, health, and property & casualty insurance, along with sessions that discuss cross-disciplinary regulatory issues.

If you are interested in speaking, either alone or with others, submit your name, title, contact information, a detailed description of your presentation, and a short bio at Speaker Proposal Form by January 31, 2025.

​ABOUT CDS
Each year, IRES hosts the Career Development Seminar (CDS), its premier professional development event. For 2025, the seminar’s theme is "Houston Rodeo of Compliance: Wrangling the Latest in Insurance Regulation," an event focused on the latest trends, challenges, and innovations in insurance regulation. This gathering is an essential opportunity for insurance professionals to deepen their expertise and stay ahead in the ever-evolving regulatory arena.
The CDS features a diverse range of keynote speakers and breakout sessions, covering key areas of insurance regulation such as market regulation, consumer services, financial solvency, IT, producer licensing, enforcement, and compliance. General sessions will address pressing issues in life, health, and property & casualty insurance and provide insights into cross-disciplinary regulatory concerns. One of the event’s major highlights is a session where a former commissioner will “wrangle” several current commissioners into talking about hot topics in the insurance industry, offering expert perspectives on the regulatory challenges shaping the industry's future.
In addition to the educational content, the Houston Rodeo of Compliance offers invaluable networking opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to meet one-on-one with regulators from various states, allowing the opportunity to make personal connections, create meaningful exchanges of ideas, and delve deep into regulatory nuances. This unique event brings together regulators and industry leaders, making it a prime venue to foster collaboration and innovation in insurance regulation. Professionals in roles such as market analysts, examiners, compliance staff, and legal teams will find this event especially beneficial. To have the full CDS experience, we encourage you to plan to arrive for the Welcoming Reception Sunday evening and depart after the Appreciation Reception on Tuesday evening.
