IRES Board of Directors Nomination Form

All IRES Board candidates and elected members must be general members of IRES in good standing. In addition, they must declare a state of affiliation for the duration of their term of office. If unable to declare a specific state of affiliation, the candidate or Board member may declare themselves “unaffiliated” for the duration of their board term. Eligible nominees will be asked to provide a 250-350 word bio for consideration by the voting membership.

Acknowledgment of Responsibility

I understand that Board members must attend the Board meetings which are currently held on a quarterly basis. Three of the meetings are held via teleconference throughout the year and a set of meetings are held in conjunction with the Society’s annual Career Development Seminar (CDS). NOTE: In accordance with the IRES bylaws, any Board member who fails to attend any three (3) consecutive meetings shall be deemed to have resigned, unless the minutes of the meeting note that such member was excused by a majority vote of the remaining members of the Board of Directors present.

In addition to attending the Board meetings, it is the position of the IRES Board of Directors that every Board member should serve on and take an active role with at least one of the standing committees as defined by the bylaws. Taking an active role requires the Board member to participate in the meetings of and help carry out the work of that committee. Board members who have not volunteered for a committee within 30 days of the Society’s annual CDS will be appointed to serve on a committee.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is responsible for the management of IRES and has the authority to act on behalf of the entire Board of Directors. The Executive Committee consists of not more than nine members of the Board of Directors elected annually by the Board. In addition to attending the meetings of the Board, Executive Committee members are required to hold an IRES AIE, CIE, MCM, AMCM, or CICSR Designation, participate in monthly teleconferences, and chair one of the standing committees defined by the bylaws.
